Hey everyone!  While you are waiting for a new episode, which should be out later today, I want to let everyone know about Rodrigo Gudiño‘s new short ‘The Facts in the Case of Mister Hollow’.  It’s an amazing short on a technical aspect and follows Gudiño‘s path to make films to fester in your head and make you think about what you have seen.  According to Gudiño‘ via a response from YouTube & from what I have heard, he plans to release all 3 of his short films on DVD this August.  I hope he will be featuring them or debuting them at this year’s Festival of Fear in Toronto.  His next entry into visual entertainment will be a remake of ‘Cut-Throats Nine’.

I highly recommend you hit “HQ” for high-quality and Full-Screen it as there are many details you must see…..LOOK CLOSELY.

    Hola! I am Andy's mom and I have the following comments to make about "The Facts in the Case of Mr. Hollow", which Andy let me see in the car on our way back from my nephew's wedding reception.

    I looked up this movie on the web and saw it again. While I feel it was a very brilliant concept and was very haunting (since I evidently had to see it again), the "facts" are a bit skewed.

    At the beginning, there is a book with a caduceus on it, plus a book on the gods and goddesses of Greek mythology. There is a word, "Keres", marked on a piece of paper with a "?". Keres are actually female death spirits that haunted the battlefields or were involved in any violent death, who drank blood of the killed souls and sent them to Hades. There is no mention of sacrificing people to please these spirits. I believe there would have been enough people killed by violent means to satisfy them. I don't think any sacrifice would have been necessary. Plus, a fire wouldn't have been necessary, as the Keres fed on blood. The "witch" shown at the end looks like she's ready to grab the baby, anyway, fire or no fire. If the baby was burnt, there wouldn't have been any blood. Also, if 100s of children are missing, why was the woman spared? Why didn't they just take the baby and kill the woman, too? Plus, the christian symbols should have no bearing on a Keres, since this mythology was around way before Christianity was established. Also, the caduceus tatoos have nothing to do with Keres and was actually a symbol used by Hermes/Mercury. No association with the Keres. Plus, if Johnny Hollow had taken the picture, then how did all these details emerge without him knowing? What's the deal?

    In spite of these "flaws", it was a very effective short movie. Maybe the director should change the beginning shots of all the documents to make the story more credible. Just saying….
