I'll be the first to admit I don't make it to the actual site much since I subscribe to the show via iTunes. The fact that I am responding to a post that is almost a month old helps drive that home. I'm the same way with the sites for all the podcasts I listen to though, so don't feel bad.

I think more content would definitely help attract more hits, but it is a one-man show. Eric S. (Stanze?) has some good ideas! But you're right, Andy, there are alot of sites with that kind of material so it is hard to stand out in the crowd.

Okay, so I've been no help, but at least we're here!!!

Andy! My suggestions - I like reading news and reviews, but I also like more in-depth "retrospective" articles (say, about an actor, or a filmmaker, or even a single film if it has a long and dramatic history). Inviting other writer-folk to contribute (so the burden isn't entirely on you) would be advisable. Also, I think tying DTB directly to events you produce (like the 35mm screenings you've talked about) in some way would be a welcome slant to the site. Other suggestions... I like top ten lists and timelines (for example http://www.iphonegold.org/iphone-timeline.html or http://cache.gizmodo.com/assets/resources/2008/01... Does that help or did I just type a buncha nonsense?

Why don't I get any cookies and cake? Seriously though, we touched very briefly on some fresh ideas over dinner the other night, and I think that would be a good avenue to go down. The idea being drawing in stories/events/concerts/happenings that revolve around horror in the STL area. For example...covering how a local tattoo artist works on a horror themed tattoo and photographing the progress. Maybe showcase some of their horror themed work. Posting up reviews of the Lemp Mansion. Seek out some local horror related artists whether it be music, art or writer related and have them write and article....just some ideas.
