Wow, I had a bit of time and thought I’d sneak by to see of any responses to my comment. I still stand by my previous post, but I understand your perspective as well, Eddie. And your welcome for supporting the movie. I thought it was great, and not too long which many movies tend to be these days. Also, despite your comments on believing you over acted yourself, I have to disagree. Your performance was one of my favorites in the movie. I thought it was brutal and convinced me that you were this scummy thug type guy who thinks highly of himself. It was perfect in my opinion. I thought some of the other acting was well done too. The main couple did a good job. The only one I didn’t think was too convincing and seemed really forced was that of the guy who played your partner. The one who wants out of the whole slave trade thing. He was the weakest link. Other than that, everyone seemed to have done a great job. But again I will stick to what my interests and opinions are and not follow what a reviewer tells me. If I would have done that, I wouldn’t have gotten to enjoy so many good movies. Keep up the good work and I hope you have some more main roles in Ryan Cavallenees movies. You could have a decent career ahead of you. Heck, if you provide me with an email or contact info, I wouldn’t mind getting you to play a lead in one of my future films.
Just wanted to say thank you for reviewing our film and many points you make were agreeable. I was the actor that played Geno and I agree that I over acted the part. It's hard for me to watch that performance and I regret the approach I took on that role. I take acting seriously and have a lot to learn, so I'm glad your review was an honest one. It tells me to step it up the next time around and spend more time developing and not over doing it. As for the Cookie guy who posted, thank you for your support of our movie but the opinions expressed in this review are valid ones and from another perspective so it should be respected. Those who can — do. Those who can’t — criticize.
Review shows are built by those who have no real talent in an industry they wish they could be a part of. So they spew out their thoughts and opinions on movies they like and hate. Personally, I’ve never put much stock into any review. Even when I’ve agreed with one. Especially when it comes to music and film. The sad thing is that some people will actually avoid or pursue a certain product based on a review by critics.
There are films I probably do enjoy that you do as well, but I imagine our tastes in the “horror” genre run along different lines. The sad thing is that some people will actually avoid or pursue a certain product based on a review by critics. I am not friends with the filmmakers of this movie nor have I seen others by them. I am an indie filmmakre myself who seeks out movies of the same caliber. So when I viewed Stockholm Syndrome after ordering a copy, I was amazed at what was pulled off with such limited production resources. The quality was there for such a low budget movie. Also, the acting was on par with most Hollywood crap I’ve seen. Sometimes the video quality can cut down on performances. Your Blair Witch Movie you praise was victim to this. If that wasn’t over doing it on the acting spectrum, I don’t know what is. But if it had been filmed by a major studio, I suspect those same actors would have looked a bit more convincing. No sir, I am an indie filmmaker whose films you’ve fortunately have not reviewed. At least none that I’m aware of. I normally don’t bother with watching or listening to reviews myself and only happened upon this one when googling. No, reviews waste valuable time in which I could be spending watching an actual movie rather than what someone thought about it. A movie that someone created and spent the time to put together and not a simple non scripted bs session about a movie’s weaknesses and strengths. Who really cares in the end? It’s not like you will leave your own legacy behind with a review show.

I saw Stockholm Syndrome and thought it was great for a low budget movie. I love low budget stuff and this guy reviews them with expectations of a Hollywood blockbuster. I mean c'mon. He enjoyed Zombieland. That movie wasn't even remotely funny.

Look, like I said in the review..indie to no-budget filmmaking is a tough sell. You really need to hit a home run with the story and other attributes to detract viewers from some of the production values. Take "Blair Witch" for example. It's one of my favorite films..yet it had horrible production values – it was filmed on Hi-8 – yet the story propelled. Also, if you listened to the show instead of the review, you would know not only did I run an advert for Wicked Pixel Cinema – an indie company just like 4th Floor Pictures/Myzery Films/GMD – but I talked with one of the crew members to get listeners to go to their site & support them.
Also, the site doesn't just review Hollywood blockbusters. If you were to listen to more of the episodes, you would know that I don't like the majority of what Hollywood puts out.
We disagree on a film. Period. If you love Stockholm Syndrome, support the shit out of it. Support the filmmakers and make your voice known to them, not me. It is rough out there for indie filmmakers that want to make a movie nowadays. Also, anyone that has gone out there to chase their dream and make a movie and is somewhat successful in doing so already gets my gratitude. Have a good one Cookie.
